Garden Party

The biggest hit of the party, hands down, were these homemade ring pops with both lemonade and pink lemonade. The kids went CRAZY for them, each requesting several. I should’ve made fifty more and will absolutely have a ton on hand this summer.

I rocked one too.

And then, after all that crafting and splashing, like every afternoon/early evening in our apartment, it was time for a dance party. Jason from Moosiki Kids was great with the kids, singing a mix of requested tot classics as well as some Justin Timberlake, Prince, etc. to keep the parents pleased too.

Like a kiddie Coachella…

Lilly’s highlight of the day, which she still talks about, was blowing out her candles. She practiced for months, even so generously offering to help friends’ at their parties! 😉 Finally, it was her turn.

We followed the sugar rush with one final mess: The Petal Toss.

And then it was time for goodbye. We sent them home sugared up, messy, wet… perhaps we’re not favorites amongst the parents right now but the kids sure had fun! It was an afternoon well spent.

For the gift bags I used rose gold tissue, spray painted little wooden themed shapes, wrote each child’s name in white paint pen and affixed them to the bags.

Gift bags

Bags were filled with Liberty alphabet stickers, Shrinkables Fairytale characters, some marshmallow sandwiches to-go and, of course, each child took home their potted flowers, decorated watering can, floral/leaf crown and star wand.

My friend Erica signing Lilly’s birdhouse for her boys. Each birthday, I choose something different that reflects the theme of the party (that Lilly can keep throughout the years) for guests to sign. For the Sophie party, it was a giraffe jewelry dish for later and a collector’s case that she can play with now and Peppa Pig was a Happy Birthday Peppa book.

This year, the wooden birdhouse fit perfectly.

My mother-in-law so graciously wrapped the floral garlands around the balloon strings while standing inside a huge plastic bag that the balloons came in. That’s a memory for the books. Oh, how we laughed about that. “Lilly, on your third birthday, Mommy tried to suffocate Cookie.”

It was a perfectly imperfect day, much how three is shaping up to be!
