Our First Month in the Burbs

The queen arrived and went immediately into her new bounce house.

And her art table (in my office). Not to mention, her playroom.

Loving her new counter stools. She now has three different options of where to sit for meals.

Dinner that night was quite the change considering we actually had a table again (about a year ago, we gave ours up for my office space) and a sizable one at that! My view from the other end.

Waking up the first morning with our little girl in her home was pretty special.

Cartoons in her new teepee.

She’s out of school six weeks early so we signed her up for soccer (and tennis, she’s still in ballet in the city) stat.

We’re also hitting up the local library weekly (among other trial classes) for story hour and crafts.

Loving the space for all her toys.

And playing in her Mama’s walk-in closet. Couldn’t do that before as it was all jammed into hers!

First play date at our place!

Driveways and neighborhoods call for learning to ride a bike.

There’s also been lots of watering the grass, flowers, plants, patio…

And dressing up. That is, after we got back our costume rack, costumes and mirror since they’d been in storage at my parents’ place since this party.

Plenty of ice cream runs too at the most charming (and delicious) shop in town.

Time for her first tennis lesson. Zach grew up playing and was a proud papa watching his little girl.

Is she four or fourteen in this photo?!

A fundraiser at a local school involved balloon blowers, bubble wrap popping, a toilet paper party… the burbs know how to have fun!

Watching her play tennis has become my favorite part of the week much like when she started ballet. There’s nothing cuter than a tiny tennis player.

Macaron stop post dinner out one night.

We all love looking out the (new) windows. No high rises and construction in site (well, besides our basement!), just tons of trees, birds, squirrels, rabbits…

But perhaps one of the most exciting moments was the delivery of our very own play set. Someone supervised the progress all day.

And was SO EXCITED once it was finally ready. I’ll never forget that day. It was a good one.

In the words of Annie, which is one of the many movies I can’t wait to watch with her in our new living room during family movie nights, just one of the many new traditions we’ll form here, “I think we’re gonna like it here!”
