DIY Girls Night

And, of course, we had to have some fashionable vino to go with our accessories party! Since none of us had tried this brand before, we had a little mini tasting. It was conversational and fun! I really liked the Little Black Dress Divalicious Pink Pinot.

Dinner was caesar salad bites, two ways: individual stalks with cheese and crumbled crisps and parmesan wafers with salad piled on top. All were dressed with a greek yogurt concoction (minus the anchovies) to lighten things up a bit.

And homemade, custom pizzas 3 ways: cauliflower, whole grain and whole wheat crusts and DIY toppings like basil, pepperoni, mushrooms, sun-dried, heirloom and cherry tomatoes, onions, peppers, prosciutto, ham, pineapple and parm, mozz and goat cheeses.

Deciding on our creations, rolling out the mis-shapen dough, making mini- and many- kitchen fails was just as entertaining as the bangles.

Keeping with the cost-cutting efforts, I purchased this acrylic paint set, along with some metallics and added it to the table decor.

And then it was time to use them and figure out who was cut out for bracelet making and who was not.

We used painter’s tape to make designs. Some of my friends were pros!

I was not. So I decided to focus my attention on dessert.

I love the pairing of pizza and ice cream. And when my friend Brooke introduced me to The Konery, I knew there was no question what would accompany our meal. Mini homemade, all-natural cones in birthday cake, chocolate hazelnut, french vanilla, cinnamon brown sugar, toasted coconut and bacon and maple flavors- yum! I served them with several selections of Talenti gelato. Since they were small, we were able to try lots of different combos. (At least that’s what we told ourselves!) That actually might have been the most fun?!

The Konery also offers waffle bowls. And tacos! I smell my next party! Mexican fiesta anyone?

My finished products. Most were designed covering up previous mistakes. I worked on them for several days, making many a touch up. Don’t look for my bangle shingle on Etsy anytime soon!

But did I mention how much fun I had?? Seriously, it was the best time I’ve had in awhile, laughing with my girls, getting to really catch up, trying something new, unleashing my inner (childish) artist… I can’t recommend this party idea enough.
