Back to School Play Date

To celebrate the kids returning to school, I threw a small and intimate themed play date. My inspiration was these colorful letter erasers from the Target dollar bin (they’re sold out but I found similar ones here). I collaborated with my friend Lizzie from The Workspace for Children to show two different ways to use them. She used them as a toy for sensory play and I used them for place “cards” for the kid’s table.

I used blank books that I had left over from a previous year (also from the Target Bullseye bin), purchased some fresh new colored pencils and tied them with ribbons so the kids could color while they ate.

I set the table with a few of my favorites: plastic cups with lids, whimsical straws and colored ice balls (we first used for this party), popcorn boxes and leftover paper plates in two different patterns (stripes and confetti) to mix it up.
